Our Objectives

 

 

Manchester Black Minority Ethnic (BME) Network is for people working in and involved with the BME Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in Manchester. It focuses on key issues impacting on BME communities and their service delivery organisations, e.g. Government Policy and Strategy, Infrastructure Support, Capacity Building, Service Contracts, Grant Programmes and Service Delivery issues. Currently it has around 200 member organisations and meets quarterly.

Manchester Black Minority Ethnic Network exists to:

 

  • Promote the sharing of good practice and partnership working for the BME voluntary and community sector (VCS).

  • Provide an effective voice for the BME VCS to influence policy makers via accountable representation and co-ordinated responses to consultations.

  • Provide leadership for the BME VCS by developing a strategic direction for the sector and promoting members’ interests through lobbying and advocacy.

  • Improve access and connectivity to opportunities by providing information, support and signposting services to our members.

  • Enable capacity building support to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of BME VCS organisations.
